AC Boards
When entering engineering mode, you must select whether you want panelboards or switchboards for your project.
Both can be toggled on and off at will. Typically, a system would need either a panelboard or a switchboard. You can have either or both for a given project.
When you set the size of your board, we will design with that size as the ideal and max size. If we have the ability to select a smaller size (for example, if you typically use 800A panelboards with 4 inverters each but only have 1 inverter remaining) then we will use the smallest possible size to fit your gear (in this example, a 200A panelboard).
Panelboards
Panelboards aggregate inverters and send them to the downstream component. The downstream component could either be a switchboard, transformer, existing building switchgear or existing transformer.
Switchboards
-
Ground Mounts: you can have multiple switchboards connecting to transformers. -
BTM or FTM: you can only have a single switchboard connecting to the existing or new equipment. The switchboard must be appropriately sized in conjunction with the size of the system and the downstream equipment.
