Placing Equipment
To place equipment in Solesca, you must first enable engineering mode for your design and complete the engineering
stepper to build your BOM. Once that is done, you will be in engineering mode and see the
Global engineering settings inspector panel. This panel contains all of the equipment for your project.
This panel is broken up into two sections, Equipment and Interconnection.
Equipment
This section groups your equipment by parent devices. The parents are either a Transformer, Switchboard, or Switchgear.
Each parent has a dropdown and holds all of its children. If you are working on a ground mount system you will also have the ability to toggle the AC pad. This will group every Switchboard and its children together into one single equipment placement on the map - perfect for string inverters on ground mounts.
All equipment that you place will show up on the IX Package.
For canopies or ground mounts with no Combiner Boxes and where the inverters are not central inverters we will automatically place the inverters for you on the project by clicking on the Wiring icon in the top right of the screen. You cannot move these inverters.
For rooftop we will automatically place inverters for you, assuming you have not placed any inverters yet, when you click the wiring icon as well.
For ground mounts, you must have the transformers placed in order for us to place poles on the map for you.
Interconnection
This section holds your interconnection-relevant equipment and your specific POI. You can place your MV underground line, AC disconnect, meters, and other relevant devices as well.
Once you place the POI for ground mounts and have the transformers placed, the ability to modify pole layouts will appear.
