Single Line Diagram Overview

Single Line Diagrams (SLDs) are essential electrical drawings that illustrate the flow of power from the photovoltaic (PV) modules to the utility grid.
Solesca rapidly creates professional, PE-stampable SLDs using your project's specifications.

Solesca currently supports three primary system types:

  1. Behind the Meter: For systems connected behind an existing utility meter.
  2. CS Rooftop and Carport: For Community Solar interconnections in urban environments, typically rooftop or carport installations.
  3. Ground Mount: For all ground mount projects.

The Behind the Meter option allows connection to existing switchgear or a transformer.
When connecting to switchgear, you can specify the connection method: 'Breaker', 'Line-side tap', or 'Load-side tap', covering all common interconnection scenarios. You can also input the existing meter number and existing breaker details on the switchgear, ensuring the SLD accurately reflects on-site conditions.

CS Rooftop and Carport facilitates front-of-meter interconnections for urban systems.
It allows for connection to the grid via a new transformer. You can also include an existing building's meter number for the utility's reference during application review.

Ground Mount handles all ground mount system configurations. You can specify all of your AC components, including relay settings for reclosers.

Regardless of the system type, Solesca exports both PDF and DXF files of the SLD. These files can be submitted directly to the utility and used as a foundation for further project planning.

Solesca can currently export stampable drawings for systems up to 15MWDC. Drawings for larger systems will include a disclaimer indicating they are for reference only.

BOM

Based on the project and SLD design, Solesca generates a detailed Bill of Materials (BOM). This BOM includes comprehensive descriptions of equipment and required quantities, streamlining your project's procurement process.
