Design templates
Design templates allow you to create preset configurations that can be applied to new and existing designs. They contain data about the desired module & inverter, layout, loss values, and more. Design emplates allow you to have a consistent starting point for your designs.
Creating design templates
To create a design template, go to Design Templates (opens in a new tab), click "+ Template", and then follow the steps. For more information about what the fields mean, see the definitions page.
Updating design templates
The easiest way to update a design template is to click on its row. Additionally, you can click the checkbox to the left of the row and click "Edit."
Important: Whenever you update an design template, all designs that currently use that template will update as well. Only if a field has "broken" from the template (meaning data has been locally overwritten), will it not update if the engineering template is changed.
Duplicating design templates
To duplicate a design template, click the checkbox for the template, and click "Duplicate."
Deleting design templates
To delete an design template, click the checkbox, then "Delete."
If you delete a template that is currently in use, the design(s) using it will simply "break away" from the template.
