Albedo Presets

Albedo presets

Albedo (ground reflectivity) is important for solar modeling, particularly when using bifacial modules. In Solesca, you can choose to either use the albedo values of the weatherfiles, or specify your own albedo values (using Albedo Presets) on a month-by-month basis.

Creating an albedo preset

To create an albedo preset, navigate to https://app.solesca.com/system/albedos (opens in a new tab) and click the "+ Albedo" button in the upper-right. This will open a dialog pop-up where you can enter the name for your new template, as well as the monthly albedos. 0 is no reflection (black) and 1 is full reflection (white). If you'd like to update all values at once, you can enter a number in the "Update all months" section.

Editing, duplicating, and deleting an albedo preset.

If you click on the checkbox for an engineering template's row, you will have the option to edit, duplicate, or delete the template. To edit, you additionally can simply click on the row itself.
