Modules, inverters & batteries

Solesca pulls its library of modules, inverters, and batteries from the California Energy Commission. To view & search the library, see modules (opens in a new tab), inverters (opens in a new tab), or batteries (opens in a new tab).

From this point forward, "component" will be used to refer to either a module, inverter, or battery.

Selecting & unselecting components

To add components to your organization's shortlist (which are the only ones visible when choosing components in an engineering template or in a design), simply click the "+" icon to the left of them. To deselect a module or inverter from your organization's shortlist, click the green checkmark icon for that row.

Uploading custom components

If a module or inverter you are looking to use is not available in Solesca's library, we have the option to upload custom .PAN (French for panel, "panneau,"... or English for panel), or .OND files (French for inverter, "onduleur"). To do so, you can click the "+PAN"/"+OND" buttons in the upper-right. If you don't have a .PAN or .OND file, we recommend reaching out to the OEM to obtain these files.

If a battery you are looking to use is not available in Solesca's librabry, we have the option to enter battery data directly in Solesca for you to use. Click Custom Battery and you will be presented with the ability to enter the manufacturer name and model number as well as the chemistry, power, and capacity. Once saved, you can add it to your system library and use on projects!

Deleting custom components

⚠️

If any designs still use the deleted component, they will be automatically replaced with a different one.

To delete an uploaded PAN or OND file, click on the trash icon for that row.

Filtering & sorting

You can search for specific manufacturers or model numbers in the search box, or sort by clicking the column header. Additionally, you can filter components by "Status" ("Selected" or "Unselected"), and/or "Category" ("System," i.e. Solesca-provided, or "Custom," i.e. user-uploaded).
